At
the 11th Annual Queensland Sports Awards ceremony on 1 December 2005
in front of over 1000 guests, Keith "Happy" Wallis was awarded a
medal in the "Queensland Health 2005 Service to Junior Sport" category. "Happy" was presented with his medal by State Premier
Peter Beattie in front of a star studded hall containing the likes
of Grant Hackett, Alistair Lynch, Andrew Symonds, Leisel Jones,
Libby Lenton and many other notable sports identities and
administrators. "Happy" was reported to have been quite overwhelmed
by the presentation of his award and in his speech made several
references to Wests Juniors Football Club.
Wests Juniors Australian
Football Club, its mums and dads, and his past and present "pupils"
wish to congratulate the deserved recognition this award gives to "Happy's"
many years of unstinting service to junior Australian football.
A labour of love.
